Overview

A key component of Zydus Medical College and Hospital Dahod – the department of microbiology established in 2018 is involved in a quality based, continually improved community oriented services through the media of its various subareas and has expanded to current, state of art, providing microbiological diagnostic, research oriented teaching, and molecular diagnostic facilities. The department caters diagnostic services in various sections on an average to 800 patients daily.

Bacteriology laboratory is equipped with automated continuous monitoring blood culture system BACT ALERT in addition to conventional culture and sensitivity method. We provide the facility for isolation, identification and antimicrobial susceptibility testing. Serology laboratory provide community diagnostic services through tests like ASO, CRP, RA, Widal and ELISA .Our virology laboratory is involved in providing services for diagnosis of HIV, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B , Hepatitis E, Dengue and Chikungunya. It is equipped with the ELISA machine and ELISA reader and washer. Mycology section is involved in routine culture identification and isolation of fungi by conventional methods and is equipped with Biosafety Cabinet and BOD incubator. Parasitology laboratory is involved in isolation and identification of blood and enteric parasites and perform rapid test for malaria.

Our molecular laboratory the only NABL accredited laboratory in entire Dahod district in Eastern tribal base of Gujarat. We also provide RTPCR testing for HCV, Dengue and Chikungunya in addition to Covid. Situated at the adjoining borders of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, the microbiology laboratory is getting diagnostically challenging patients.
